Ford brought back the Bronco SUV in 2021 by introducing the high-performance Raptor in 2022. It’s not shocking to find Ford produced the 2023 Bronco’s new models without any significant changes. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.

Upgrading to the Big Bend will get you LED fog lights, a unique grille, 17-inch alloy wheels, 32-inch all-terrain tires, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and tinted windows.

The Mid Package includes:

• An auto-dimming rearview mirror.
• Heated front seats.

WHAT’S NEW

New Bronco Heritage and Heritage Limited Editions have a similar design to the classic SUVs from the ’60s. Other than these new limited-edition models, the Bronco is a carryover model for 2023.

The Engine

The 2023 Ford Bronco is available with three different engines, all of which are turbocharged. A seven-speed manual transmission is standard on the base four-cylinder engine, while a 10-speed automatic transmission is available.

The available V6 engines come with an automatic transmission. Adding the V6 engine to the Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, and Badlands costs $3,490.

Ford offers the Bronco with multiple four-wheel-drive systems. The base system has a terrain selector, selectable engagement, and a two-speed transfer case. Consumers can also spec the available Advanced 4×4 system that brings automatic engagement and extra terrain select systems. This 4WD system is available on all trims as an option except on the Badlands and Wildtrak.

Safety Features

The Big Bend, Black Diamond, and Badlands are included with Ford Co-Pilot360 as part of the Mid Package. The Co-Pilot360 suite features blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and rear parking sensors.

Connectivity

The standard infotainment system in the Bronco has an eight-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four USB ports, and six audio speakers. An eight-inch digital instrument cluster is also standard. Navigation is a part of the Mid Package on the trims where it’s available.
